Hi there!

Introduction...

27th June 2025: I have set up this webpage in order to explain the situation Mohammed and his family are facing in Gaza.

About Mohammed...

Mohammed is a nurse. He has four sisters and a younger brother who was injured in the war. He has seven nieces, ranging from 12 years old all the way down to 3 months. He is like thousands and thousands of people in Gaza who do not have enough to survive. He is forced to buy food at exorbitant prices on the black market. Here are the updated prices for some food items he sent me on 2025-06-24:

Item Quantity Price Item Quantity Price Item Quantity Price Item Quantity Price
Egg 1 USD 7 Meat 1 kg (2.2 lb) USD 200 Flour 20 kg (44 lb) USD 600 Vegetables 1 kg USD 25
Rice 1 kg USD 25 Fruit 1 kg USD 30 Sugar 1 kg USD 100 Sweets 1 kg USD 100

Yes, that is correct, seven US dollars for 1 egg. Unbelievable really, when I can buy 30+ eggs in my local supermarket for that price.

Mohammed has informed me that, with these prices he estimates he needs USD 180-200 per day to feed his family.

About You...

You are the real heroes, you are the people who can really make a difference. Eventhough it is at a micro level, Mohammed and everyone else in Gaza are all real human beings like you and me with dreams of a brighter, safer future. Helping like this, either by donating or sharing in your social media groups (or both if you can) creates wider awareness of the dire reality in Gaza.

Also, if you can, supporting the end of the war through various means such as attending peaceful protests, signing petitions, contacting/emailing your local representatives, etc... can help end this war faster and save more lives.

Your actions at a micro level will force those people in power to make changes at a macro level to end this war and allow humanitarian aid into Gaza.

About the Donation link...

The donation link and the hosted campaign was set up by a person in Canada, user name Agitprop Absurdity* (AA). Mohammed cannot set this up himself as chuffed.org has a specific list of countries where people can set up campaigns from. See bottom of the page here

AA set up the campaign 3-4 months ago when the ceasefire was in effect, hence Mohammed mentions the cold weather and his desire to rebuild his family home in the bio. The situation in Gaza has changed dramatically since then, where the priority now is the daily struggle to find enough food to survive.

I have donated on several occasions to this link and, as a result, Mohammed has been able to buy food for his family. However, I cannot afford to donate US$180-200 per day to help him and his family (see my short bio below), and neither can 99% of people. However, together, we can help ease his family's desparate situation. So, even if you can just afford a few dollars/euro, together we can make a big difference for at least 7 young children.

The donations so far have reached CAD$ 7,828 (up to today, 2025-06-27). Thats the equivalent of US$5,756 in the last 3-4 months. On it's own, thats a lot of money, but not when you divide it by 4 months (120 days), it's US$ 48/day - about a quarter of what Mohammed needs every day for his family with the high prices on the black market. So, as you can guess, right now Mohammed and his family are living from day-to-day and depend on these donations to ward off starvation.

Note: US$ 1.00 = CAD$ 1.36. € 1.00 = CAD$ 1.60 as of 2025-06-27. [source: xe.com]

About Me...

I am from Limerick, Ireland, and like most of us throughout the world, I feel paralysed and heartbroken by the atrocities that are being carried out daily in Gaza. This is just my attempt to help out to try to help make things easier for one family out of thousands in Gaza. I quit social media years ago, because I prefer a quiet life. However, due to this situation, I am planning to set one up (or resurrect an old account) in order to provide update on Mohammed & his family and try to help people in Gaza get food. Please check in on this page every couple of days until I get social media up and running again.

Join me and help Mohammed's family.
